Getting from Incheon International Airport to Seoul

Seoul, South Korea

Incheon International Airport is 52 km west of Seoul city centre, connected by the AREX express train. The A'REX all-stop train is cheaper; the Express Train is fastest and goes non-stop to Seoul Station.

AREX Express Train

The non-stop Express Train runs from Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 directly to Seoul Station in 43 minutes. Trains run every 30 minutes and require a separate reserved-seat ticket.

Journey time

43 min (T1) / 51 min (T2) to Seoul Station

Cost

KRW 11,000 (T1); KRW 13,300 (T2)

Tip: Pre-purchase tickets at the AREX booth or machines inside the terminal. This is the fastest option to Seoul Station and the Gyeongui-Jungang Line for further connections.

AREX All-Stop Train

The commuter all-stop train calls at 12 stations between Incheon Airport and Seoul Station. Slower but significantly cheaper; no reserved seat needed.

Journey time

66 min (T1) to Seoul Station

Cost

KRW 4,850 (T1)

Tip: Use a T-money card (available at machines and convenience stores) for a small discount and easier boarding.

Airport Limousine Bus

Comfortable coaches run from both terminals to destinations across Seoul (Gangnam, Hongik University, Jongno, etc.). Routes cover areas not directly served by AREX.

Journey time

70–110 min (traffic-dependent)

Cost

KRW 18,000–25,000

Tip: Check bus stop numbers outside arrivals — each destination has a specific stand number.

Taxi

Standard (orange), deluxe (black), and jumbo taxis are available at the taxi rank outside arrivals. Intercity taxis with fixed pricing are also available at T1.

Journey time

60–80 min to Seoul city

Cost

KRW 75,000–100,000 metered; or fixed rate around KRW 65,000 on intercity taxi
