Getting from Tokyo Haneda Airport to Tokyo

Tokyo, Japan

Haneda Airport is just 14 km from central Tokyo — the closest major airport to the city. Multiple train and monorail options get you to Shinjuku, Shibuya or Tokyo Station in 30 minutes.

Tokyo Monorail

The Tokyo Monorail departs from Terminal 3 (International) and connects to Hamamatsucho on the JR Yamanote Line, from which you can reach any part of central Tokyo. Runs approximately every 4–10 minutes.

Journey time

18 min to Hamamatsucho

Cost

¥530

Tip: Use a Suica or Pasmo IC card — faster than buying a ticket and works on all Tokyo transit.

Keikyu Airport Line

The Keikyu line from Haneda Airport Terminal 1-2 station runs directly into the city, serving Shinagawa (for Shinkansen connections), Yokohama and Asakusa. Through-service connects with the Toei Asakusa Subway Line.

Journey time

13 min to Shinagawa; 37 min to Asakusa

Cost

¥300–¥650

Tip: The Keikyu line is the best option for Shinkansen connections and destinations in western/central Tokyo.
